STAFF FLU VACCINATION PROGRAMME 2026 - 27
As winter approaches, flu can have a significant impact on our health, our families and the services we provide. Getting your seasonal flu vaccination is one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect yourself and those around you.
Every year, flu leads to staff illness, increased pressure on healthcare services and risks for vulnerable patients. By getting vaccinated, you are helping to reduce the spread of flu across our communities and supporting NHS Grampian to continue delivering safe, effective care throughout the winter months.
The flu vaccine is free for NHS and Health & Social Care staff who have direct patient/client contact and is recommended even if you are fit and healthy. While no vaccine can provide 100% protection, it remains the best defence against serious illness from flu.
Getting Your Flu Vaccine
We are making it as easy as possible for staff to receive their flu vaccine this season. From Tuesday 8th September 2026, Staff can drop into Aberdeen City, Aberdeenshire and Moray vaccination centres without an appointment during the below drop-in clinic times or can book a timed appointment on the national portal via this link. https://www.nhsinform.scot/winter-vaccines/
If you are not sure what your username or password are for the self-booking portal, don’t panic. The short video available via this link will guide you through the process of recovering them.
Please ensure you have your staff ID badge with you when attending staff clinics.
Staff Vaccination Drop In Clinics.
Dedicated staff ‘flu clinics have been scheduled as below. If these dates aren’t convenient, you can also book an appointment at the centres in Elgin, Fraserburgh, Peterhead, Macduff, Huntly, Inverurie, Banchory, Stonehaven, and Aberdeen via the national booking portal. We’re also supporting peer vaccination this year too; speak to your line manager to find out if there are peer vaccinators in your work area.
